OUR STORY
Wible Lumber Inc. has evolved from a humble handle factory and sawmill into a leading, multi-service manufacturer of high-quality hardwood lumber, rip blanks, mouldings, and edge-glued panels. For decades, our commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation has fueled our growth, making us a trusted name in the hardwood industry.
Located in South Milford, Indiana, Wible Lumber traces its roots back to the 1920s when Dale Wible founded the Wible Sawmill. As a family-owned business, the legacy has been passed down through generations. After Dale’s retirement, his son, Wayne Wible, took the helm, expanding the company’s facilities, upgrading equipment, and setting the stage for future success.
A LEGACY OF INNOVATION + QUALITY
Significant advancements between 1985 and 1987 marked key milestones in our growth. These included the installation of Irvington-Moore dry kilns, ensuring the highest quality hardwoods, and the introduction of edge-glued panels, which broadened our product offerings. These innovations allowed us to meet the growing demands of our customers and remain at the forefront of the hardwood industry.
The company’s continued growth was further accelerated when Wayne’s son, David, and son-in-law, Dennis Nowels, assumed key management roles in 1995. Their leadership, combined with an unwavering commitment to quality, allowed for the construction of additional kilns, expanding our capacity to 500,000 board feet by 2003.

Today, Wible Lumber remains a family-run operation with Dennis Nowels overseeing plant operations and David Wible managing purchasing and sales. Together with our dedicated team, they continue to ensure that quality remains the cornerstone of our business in everything we do.
